Soundtrack Reviews Coming Soon?

When I first opened this blog few were interested in reading what I had to say about soundtracks. Well, I've had several soundtrack reviews on my hard drive that I've tried to publish on other sites. I was able to get one published, but my other reviews were ignored without feedback.

Time has past and I've reconsidered posting up my soundtracks reviews. I probably won't do it here . . . But still, its a thought.

The Critic Corner Awards are coming!

January is my deadline for qualifying movies! If you have any recommendations that I haven't seen, let me know!

Avatar poised to pass The Dark Knight year-to-date gross this weekend!

I'm not excited or holding my breathe but news is news. As of Thursday, Avatar is at $450m. It needs to score at least $22m this weekend to outgross The Dark Knight at the same point year-to-date (5th weekend in release). Avatar should have no trouble doing unless The Book of Eli and other movies draw audiences away.

As of last weekend, Avatar's total gross was around 78% 3D and IMAX sells which means the ticket prices are indeed much higher than regular screen ticket prices. So far, more people in the American box office has seen The Dark Knight vs Avatar.

Massive undertaking . . . ?

As you all know I'm a very busy guy. I've had little time to devote to this blog, but I managed to update a few things especially the archives, dead links, etc. Well, there seems to only be about 70 days left in the year. I do have some plans up my sleeves that will make my long nights longer . . .

There is a book I have been working on for The Critic Corner. A part of me wants to complete it by year's end.

Another part of me wants to do another contest but this time just for fun! If I do pull this off it'll be in time for the Christmas season.

I'm aiming to hold the 4th Annual Critic Corner Awards by January 1, 2010 . . . .

Lastly, there's a major revamp in store for my newsletter. I'm not going to get into any details yet but I will tease that's its the biggest announcement of the year.

Well, that's it for this announcement. Its a big one, I know. Can I effectively pull this off?

Back from Vacation!

I saw DISTRICT 9 a few days ago but have had no time in writing up my review. I'll post it up over the weekend! After that, things should get back to normal!

Leaving on Vacation

What difference will it make? I'm leaving for Taiwan this weekend, but I've hardly updated anything because of a lousy movie season. I am interested in DISTRICT 9 and INGLORIOUS BASTERDS so maybe there's a chance for future reviews.

Either way, I'm out for two weeks. The NFL season will begin when I return which means less movie-watching for me.

Until then, please explore my blog! There are trailers, clips, news, podcasts, etc all for your enjoyment. Of course, there are plenty of reviews here too in case you're wondering what to rent for that one movie night at home ;)

The Critic Corner Award Show

Try as I may its inevitable . . . 

This year's edition of the highly anticipated The Critic Corner Awards Show is canceled indefinately.  I'll announce the winners Saturday but no "flashy" show as last year's.  Personal activities and tragedies amongst friends have forced me to cancel.  Besides, celebrating movies the day I'm to attend the funeral for one of my friend's deceased father isn't something I prefer doing.

Sorry for the disappointment but I appreciate your understanding as well.

Family Emergency - Update 2

I have returned from burying my grandmother in El Salvador. My brother, father, and I made in time to spend 10 minutes with her before she left us.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I'll be back to updating my blog next week. For the meanwhile, google Joaquin Phoenix. He retired from Hollywood!!

Family Emergency - Update 1

By the time many of you read this I will already be in El Salvador.

Around 2:30 I found out a ticket was being booked for me to leave Friday night to El Salvador. Turns out I'll be back on Tuesday. I've canceled all plans for the weekend, obviously.

Keep us in your prayers. I leave with my brother and my father. Most of all, pray for my father. This is a tough time for him. His mother (my granny) is gravely ill.

God willing, I'll see you all when I return.
